Hi, I’m Tyra Taff

Grief, Life Transitions & Chronic Illness Therapist | Telehealth for Washington Adults

Are you feeling overwhelmed by grief, illness, or a major life transition—and unsure how to move forward when life no longer looks the way you expected?

Many of the people I work with are navigating loss, chronic illness, caregiving roles, or identity shifts that leave them exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode.

I provide telehealth therapy for adults across Washington State, offering support that is grounded, compassionate, and practical. Whether you’re grieving the death of a loved one, adjusting to a new diagnosis, or struggling with the emotional weight of ongoing stress, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Who I Help

How can I support you

Telehealth and Insurance

I specialize in working with adults who are:

  • Grieving a death, anticipated loss, or life that has changed due to illness

  • Living with chronic illness, disability, or ongoing health challenges

  • Navigating major life transitions (divorce, caregiving, role changes, identity shifts)

  • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally shut down after long periods of stress

  • Caregivers supporting a loved one through serious or terminal illness

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling depleted or unsure of who they are anymore. Our work focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself while learning ways to live meaningfully—even when circumstances are hard.

My approach is trauma-informed, nervous-system aware, and collaborative. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you; it’s about understanding what you’ve been carrying and finding steadier ways to relate to your thoughts, emotions, and body.

I integrate:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you move forward with values and self-compassion

  • Parts-based (IFS-informed) work to understand internal conflicts and emotional patterns

  • Somatic and mindfulness-based approaches to support regulation and resilience

Sessions are paced thoughtfully, especially for clients who feel emotionally overwhelmed or burned out.

I offer online therapy throughout Washington State, including Richland, Kennewick, and surrounding areas. I accept several insurance plans and also offer self-pay options.

Current accepted plans include Premera, LifeWise, First Choice, Anthem, Molina, Aetna and some Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

A free consultation is available so we can see if working together feels like a good fit.
